Ninth Experience Asia Festival

Bloxham and Lewis Park, Tallahassee, FL

The Ninth Annual Experience Asia Festival 2013 (EAF2013) was held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 between 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM at Bloxham and Lewis Parks located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Monroe Street. Since our town is a college town with an ACC (FSU) and MEAC (FAMU) football teams, the Festival was scheduled on a Saturday without a home football game. The event was free and open to public and attracted record crowds of 17,000+ people. Our featured performers came from Orlando (Matsuriza Taiko Drummers), Tampa (Philippines Performing Arts Company) and Pensacola.
This year I was the Chairman of the Asian Coalition and therefore to large extent dependent on my work and team of several dedicated Executive Board members. They all pitched in so much that my work went smoothly. Many people stayed all the way until 5 PM.
A successful Festival indeed.

12:00 to 2:00 PM
WFSU (88.9 FM) Radio

Today Nick and I arrived around 11:45 AM at 1600 Red Barber Plaza to do the WFSU Radio Fall pledge drive. We received our generic script and target of $1800 for the 2-hour shift. The audio engineer explained more details about the 2 hour slot with about 7 breaks. Some breaks were at least 8 minutes long.

This was my second pledge drive for WFSU Radio. I represented Asian Coalition of Tallahassee and India Association of Tallahassee.

We heard from at least fifteen callers and in total they pledged around $1600 out of our goal of $1800. Executive Committee members from Asian Coalition of Tallahassee and India Association of Tallahassee called in and pledged support.

We are proud to support WFSU Radio.

Saint Louis Church, Tallahassee, Florida, USA

I attended the North Florida Hispanic Festival at Saint Louis Church at the intersection of Fred George Road and Old Bainbridge Road in Tallahassee, FL. We were there around 11:45 AM and VtS spent the time volunteering.

First he helped with stage. Then he went and helped with car parking. He also did some trash removal. Another friend joined him later and they both did some work together.

We left around 3:45 PM.
